1.3 Life Goes Eternally On

Welcome back to the Arcana:  A Legacy!

Last time, Affinity and Leo made sweet, sweet, woohoo, First born Gen-2 Sage was extremely boring, Mat was crazy, and Affinity and Su made good caretakers.

(As a warning, about midway through writing this, I start on a new psych medicine.... so if things get weird, sorry?)

This time, we start off with a train set!  You will never see it again, however, because it was boring.  All you could do was turn it on and watch.  Lame.

So instead, Sage dresses up like a princess.

She is an excellent princess, and this becomes a thing.

Meanwhile, one of Su's parties is still happening.  They are pretty much always happening.  Here, Artisan plays the cupcake guitar for his parents and a mermaid.

Princess Sage decides that, like her mother, she wants to write.  Affinity has a holographic futuristic computer, so naturally we buy Sage the oldest PC I recall seeing since the early Apple days.  It still costs us $800 though.

Sage wants to write a Sci-Fi novel, so she begins her very first story:  Princess in Space.

Yes, three AM is an excellent time to call.

Hate phones.

Meanwhile, I forgot about Sage at the computer, so she's still awake.

Sage:  It's Saturday - it doesn't matter.

Sweet.

Under-the-bed looks okay to me, but Sage sees monsters.

Mat!

Mat:  Urgh, no wonder I'm crazy.

Yeah, yeah, to the monster bed, please.

Grandpa doesn't care 'bout no monster <3

And Sage is able to sleep peacefully while Su dreams of parties.

If I leave these two alone for 20 seconds, this is what happens.

For reference, if I left Su and Mat alone for 20 seconds, Mat would freak out and Su would go dance.

The garden is officially huge.  The only reason Sage isn't out here too is because she doesn't get any options to garden.

Affinity: Hmm...  What was I doing?

Affinity:  Oh, right, BEES!   BEEEES!

But she doesn't get stung.  Good job!

Affinity:  Wow, it got dark fast.

You made my camera swing over here.  What do you want?

Affinity:  ....I forget.

Sigh.

Affinity:  Oh, right.

Nooboo!

Seen in the background:  Leo not caring at all.

That is a terrible picture of Leo, but I probably won't bother repainting it.  You have writing to do.

Sage:  I'm going to be a world-renown writer, just like my mommy.

Your mommy's not that good, honey.  She only has one best seller, and it was her first book.  The other eight have been pretty bad.

And that mouse is square.

Sage has rolled Illustrious Author twice now, which I've refused because I don't need to do the same one twice in a row.

Artisan:  Can I talk to my dad, please?

Well, he's gardening, but I guess.

Mat:  Can you believe all this rain?

/clearskies

Affinity and Sage are great friends, which makes me happy.

Look at that motherly look of love!

Sage:  Can I go play catch with Grandpa before he dies?

That's a bit morbid.

But she does.

And he does.

Sage:  Boo, you suck Uncle Arti!

Artisan:  Neener neener!

Leo:  /gardens

At least Su is paying attention.  She dropped everything and RAN as soon as he started sparkling.  You're already breaking my heart, Su.

:(

Finally, the rest of the family catches on.

Sage and Arti:  Wait, is she upset?  Why?

Su:  He's dying!

Sage and Arti:  No!

Mat Arcana.

Affinity:  Daddy!

It is time.  Come with me.

Mat leaves us without a fight.  He was 90 days old.

Mat:  Goodbye, Affi.  Goodbye, nooboo.

Leo:  /gardens

Sage immediately starts her second novel:  Princess in Mourning.

Affinity shows her grief by continuing to dress in clothes I have never given her.

And Su is just a mess.

(Not shown here:  Leo, still gardening).

Su decides to distract herself with household chores, and rolls wishes to upgrade pretty much everything in the house.

Unfortunately, her grief is distracting, and she just ends up breaking things.

Fortunately, she doesn't kill herself repairing it.

Sage:  Grandpa's ghost might be under my bed.

Probably not, he's in Su's inventory.  I don't really like ghosts wandering around my house.

That's not grandpa.

Sage is set, but there's no one to sleep in the monster bed tonight :(

Leo stands up from the gardening book he'd been reading.  Has the grief finally hit you?

Eh?

It doesn't look good, whatever it is.

Oooh, shiny!

Leo?

Oh, crap.

Leo:  HEEELP!

o.o

He was just reading!  And he got abducted!  I did not know this could happen!

!

First monsters, now aliens.  Sage isn't having a great night.

Sage:  Grandpa wouldn't let this stuff happen.

:(

At least he came back, though slightly probed.

Sweet ride.

Leo:  Hmm...

Leo:  Hmm?

Leo:  Hmph.

XD

Affinity:  I remember those days.  When I was thin, and my feet didn't hurt, and my back didn't ache.

I'm sure your perfect figure will return shortly, dear.

Everyone loves Su - even Leo.  But I am worried.  Her age bubble filled up at the same time as Mat's, and she still has one promotion to go.

Also, I don't want her to leave.

Luckily, I needn't have worried.

Congratulations, Su!

She is kind of losing it a bit post-Mat, however:

That is your son, Susannah.  Bad Susannah.

Anyway, to celebrate, and to get her mind off of other things, we set about fulfilling a wish that Mat didn't have the chance to do.

Pumpkin carving!

Su:  Blech!

Haha, I love that part.  Gooey but fun.

Remember kids!  Wielding long sharp knives without supervision is only safe during pumpkin carving, where the pumpkin king will protect you.

Sage carved a silly face, and Susannah carved a ghost.  Spooky!

Su's starting to feel better, so she dances again.  Takes me back.

Affinity:  Mommy!  Help!

Susannah:  Little busy...

Sage:  Mom?

Leo:  Affi?

Affinity:  I miss my daddy.

Susannah Arcana.

It is time.

Su:  But... my grand-baby...

Su:  Please!

I am sorry.

Su:  Okay...

Sage:  Bored now.

Leo finally realizes Mat is dead.

Affinity:  Can I go to the hospital, PLEASE?

Leo:  Right, right!

Leo:  Hey, where did Su go?

Guys, this broke my heart!  Su deserved better than that.  She was 92 days old.

;_;

But life must move on, and so baby Zen is born.

Zen is Disciplined and Neurotic.  He likes Kids' music, Egg Rolls, the color White, and is an Aries.

And pretty much no one cares about him.

Affinity:  Mommy!

Leo:  Su!  I have to look after these kids myself?!

Princess Sage:  Graandmaaa  /sobs

This is much, much worse than when Mat died.  But we must move on.  Zen will have to carry on without meeting his rockin' grandma.

Mat and Susannah Arcana, you deserve better than an unfinished mausoleum on a barren island, with nothing but an urn and two terrible pictures to remember you by, but this is all we have.

Mat, you founded my legacy and found your true love without problem.  You defiantly raised three kids when I only wanted one, but to make up for it, you fulfilled the LTW I assigned to you, rather than one you chose yourself.  You were crazy, and you were awesome.

Susannah, I adored you.  Your life may have started as an obscure role in a llama suit, but you became so much more.  You were an excellent mother (when I wasn't driving you to skill), and party machine, and a doting grandmother.  You balanced all this with your goal to become Leader of the Free World, and succeeded.

I'm going to miss them, guys.

'Til next time.
