Welcome back!
Last time, Knack the spare became an adult, Affinity came home, Artisan discovered monsters are real, and we were forced to say goodbye to Pounce.
But don't despair! Life carries on. Mat is yellow again!
Susannah's household handiness has grown so much, a neighbor sends her his stereo to be fixed. Despite all the things she's fixed, she's never been electrocuted until now.
Artisan: I don't like it.
Neither does Su.
Artisan: Are you okay, mom?
Aww, he's concerned! Or I queued up 'ask about day' before this happened, but let's go with concern.
Su: Of course I am, son! Well, time to go to work!
And she does, charred skin and all.
Mat goes to work yellow.
He gets the yellow one a lot.
This is Lunimas the Luminous Salamander and Inchy the Linckia Starfish!
One more, Knack!
Moody Affinity is moody. And a space-maker, because...
Meet Trade, the Tragic Clownfish.
Which means...
That's 13 Perfect fish! And Knack's LTW is complete!
We add a few to an aquarium (only holds six, sadly). It is, alas, time for Knack to move out on his own, so we keep the fish to remember him by. I will miss him terribly, but I must release him to the mercy of Story Progression. Let's hope he can find his own happiness (and that the game will tell me about it)!
Goodbye, Knack! I enjoyed watching you grow, and I'm glad you're finally an adult and don't have to be grounded every day! I don't blame you for not being heir - that's what siblings are for!
We pack Lack into his inventory, and out he goes! Live well, Knack!
Next day is Spooky day! Knack was too young for this last year, so I plan to have fun!
I quickly force the kids to model a million costumes.
Definitely not, Arti.
Hmm, not quite right. I've never been a fan of super heroes.
Su likes it. But I get to choose.
Artisan: Boop!
All kids should boop sometime in their lives.
Hah! Perfect!
Affinity: Why am I wearing this?
I don't know, change quickly!
Ooooh, lovely.
And off they go a Trick-o-Treating! Mat and Su throw a costume party (since we threw the feast party last time), but I mostly let that go on its own. Su gets perfect parties regardless of what I do.
We head to Fred's house, and Affinity forgets why she's here.
And then they change out of their costumes for some reason.
Affi still manages some candy, but Arti gets confused by the wall.
Artisan didn't get any candy :( So we continue onward.
Eventually Affinity heads back to the party, but Artisan's not giving up without candy.
And this is when I realize that NO ONE is home.
Back at the party, there are three hotdogs in attendance, including Mat. Mat and Su seem to be enjoying themselves.
The third is the guy whose stereo Su had to fix. We give it to him now. Isn't he lovely?
This doesn't look like "Dance Wildly" to me, Su.
The party breaks up shortly after this.
Back to Trick or Treating, I finally find ONE person, but it's one of my not-really-me simselves, whom I haven't seen around at all. She looks weird and short and badly dressed, and is holding a cat for some reason. She doesn't answer the door when Artisan rings, so I'm guessing she's been glitched there for awhile. Lovely.
Thankfully, Arti does manage to corner one of the hotdogs on his way home.
FINALLY. Both kids manage one piece of candy each.
A rare sighting of Mat cleaning. As a hotdog still for some reason.
And Affinity fails to understand holidays and does her homework. 'kay.
Then we break everything in the house, starting with the sink.
Then the toilet.
The other toilet.
And the dishwasher. Awesome.
Artisan: Um, that's not why you took this picture.
Isn't it?
I forgot his birthday AGAIN.
Ta-da! Don't you look cheerful.
Artisan: :( I still don't have any hair.
It's true. And the hats aren't nearly as cute.
Artisan is now a clumsy, insane, animal lover with no sense of humor, and he makes the most adorable sad faces.
Did I tell you his trait when he grew into a child? Well, now you know.
Before Knack left, I opted to use his LTR points toward a dusty old lamp.
Seeing as I've forgotten his birthday so many times, I give it to Arti as a present.
You mean it wasn't just an old dusty Arabian lamp?!
SHOCKING!
And pretty.
It's a blue girl!
Arti makes quick friends, then quickly heads off to school.
You can't take Artisan's wishes, Mat.
Genie (whose name is Rhonda): I'm on to him. Look how ugly his house is.
I know, I know. I'll fix it when we get our first heir.
Mat: I don't need you anyway! I'm shooting up the career ladder!
Mat: I might even make it to the top before I die!
She looks interested.
Artisan decides to skip the bus ride home.
I cannot tell you how many times I've referred to Arti as Knack in my head. If I ever mix that up, you know why.
It seems Artisan is feeling a bit grumpy today.
Broad daylight might not have been the right time?
Oh hey, I didn't forget to get a snapshot of Knack before he left!
Run, Arti! The cops are coming!
Wait, don't run TOWARD them!
At least you get to ride in the front?
So grounded. But at least he goes to school.
Knack's mini memorial. His room is empty except for these things now.
It's a happenin' Friday night in the Arcana household.
My mother came home to find my brother and I doing math homework at 8pm on a Friday night one time. We were blasting music, but it was Mozart, so it probably didn't count.
Here's a randomly-placed picture of the photographs Affinity's managed to take.
Party time! Susannah needs to raise some more cash for her campaign, so we invite all our friends and coworkers. My simself-who-actually-kinda-looks-like-me gets caught in the pizza box (wait, we ordered pizza for her campaign fundraiser? Classy).
I do NOT remember that dress being so low cut. Sheesh.
The guests aren't quite sure why Artisan is still doing his homework in his swimwear, but he is.
The party is a success, and we raise over $40k for Susannah's campaign! It's also largely uneventful.
Except for this. What exactly did you grill?
(Actually, the hotdog-in-the-corner tells me this was from the costume party, not the fund-raiser, but OH WELL. CHAPTER OVER)
Too-da-Lu!
