Welcome back to The Arcana: A Legacy! Last time, Knack turned teenage, went to school one whole time, and got a cat! Meanwhile, Susannah, his mother, became pregnant with an unexpected child.
Knack had a mood swing and felt the urge to set a prank, so we set one for this random old...merman thing that came into our house uninvited.
Haha, gross.
Okay, now I feel bad.
Why did you come to my house to die?! D=
Su: Hm, wasn't expecting that.
This family is WAY ahead of schedule if you're dying already.
Nooo, it's not us!
Su: Omg, they'll never believe this at work. Hey, Death! Death, c'mere!
Su: Smile! =D
Su: Are you smiling?
Su: Awesome! Thanks!
You're not going to put that on the internet, are you?
Oh, Death.
Meanwhile - cats can take taxi-boats. You learn something new every day.
I feel like these two should be perfect for each other. Two loners, just chillin' out, fishin', enjoying each other's company.
Pretty much it's skillin' time.
But look! It's spring! I like progressively melting snow! Whooo!
Hey wait, are those gems?
Mat does have the Gatherer trait, but I've never done much with it. I'm vaguely aware that there are bushes and things scattered about, but I could never be bothered to find them. This is when I start saving for the Collection Helper Lifetime Reward Thingy.
Looking around for rocks and things, I found this somewhat creepy family just... standing around by the beach one morning. Whatever makes you happy, guys.
o.o
Did random pictures around town help pass time at all? Oh well.
So one night, Mat was out being really creepy when suddenly...
*insert chicken-labor joke*
And it's a girl! Meet Affinity Arcana, unexpected addition and probable-spare. She rolled Couch-Potato and Absent-Minded. She's a Virgo, and loves Disco, Falafel, and the color Violet.
So the happy couple return home and... wait. Where did you put the baby?
Su: Huh? Just taking out the trash.
I completely missed her putting the baby in the new crib, so that kind of freaked me out for a moment.
We are slightly-less-poor than before, so Affinity gets a niftier crib.
Yeah, that silly little violet girl Knack painted last time isn't so silly now, is it?
I sent Susannah to the bookstore again, and in addition to the other stuff we got a bunch of kids books. I think you can skill with them, but I dunno.
This is the house now, if you're interested.
So, hey, you know that weird jacket Mat's always wearing? It's his work uniform. And while I wondered why that might be, this is the first time I realized that might not be right. You can't see it in this dark and blurry picture, but he is not wearing the headgear his little look-around-head is wearing.
...What do you call those heads? o.O
So I had him switch to his career outfit, and this seems to have fixed the problem from here on out. All right.
Knack is also a celebrity, I guess because he's Su's son.
Knack: Why is this happening?
I don't know.
It's Sunday and I'm bored of fishing, so Knack heads down to the Spring Festival. Ooh, Fire walking, looks tough!
Knack: Hah! No problem!
Knack: Hmm... will I ever find love?
Knack: Guess not :(
He got a bad moodlet from that!
I don't know what these eggs are for, but I can't pass them without picking them up.
*yoink!*
At home, Knack is also a champion brother!
I wish these rocking chairs weren't so creepy. They could be cute :(
And it's time for Susannah and Mat to transition into adulthood!
Su: Unnecessary, but thanks, son!
Yeah, she looks the same.
But hey, maybe they'll be a little more settled, a little less crazy now?
Maybe not.
He also looks the same.
It was at this very moment that I realized Knack has homework in his inventory.
Knack: No problem. How hard can it be?
Knack: Um, why are there letters in my math?
That's algebra. You never learned to count.
Stupid snow days.
It's three AM.
Knack: Yeah, I know, let me just eat some dinner.
That's cake.
Knack: Dinner.
It's four AM!
Knack: But she's hungry! And mom and dad are ignoring her.
They're SLEEPING. Like you should be.
I can't really blame him, though. I've had these nights.
And they're so cuuute =D
Mat: Hey, are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Hah, no. One Oops was enough.
Su: Hmm...
NO DAMMIT.
And then I was so distracted with those two, I forgot to wake Knack in time for school. Whoops?
Also, we're ignoring the cat. She has fleas, but won't let Su bathe her.
Knack: Crap. Is it too late to run to school?
Um, it's 3 pm. School is OVER.
Then Mat yelled at him for skipping :(
Maybe if SOME people could control their wishes, this wouldn't have happened.
Knack: Stupid parents, can't even bathe the stupid cat...
YOU wanted the cat!
We sent some of Mat's rocks in to be cut, so I finally got the mail. Most of this is from all the random crap sitting in our mailbox that I didn't even know about, along with about a thousand creepy love-letters to Susannah.
Creepy.
NewLlama: I hope I can be as awesome as my predecessor someday!
Dream on, Llama.
Til next time!
Too-da-Lu!
